"devil may care" idiom
Main Post:
this is the only idiom i can never understand.
the devil may care but I do not. Why does the devil care? How does this even relate to the devil/sin/bad things?
devil may care = reckless, lighthearted, etc
why would the devil care about that? having a devil-may-care attitude isn't necessarily bad, so why would the devil give a shit?
Top Comment: "The devil may care, but I do not." The Devil is viewed in Christianity as a tempter, a proponent of sin. The Devil is said to do everything in his power to drive people towards sin. To say "the devil may care" is to say I know I'm doing the wrong thing (and that probably makes the Devil happy, which I should be concerned about) but I just don't give a shit. Also, the Devil is the punisher, so he's the one to be afraid of (rather than God). Why it's Devil may care and not God may care is a matter of history. Idioms aren't always logical and we don't always know where they originated. That's just how language works.
They may not care, but they clearly do care enough to make one meme about it...

Who hates England? Not me, never have, happy banter that goes both ways is the norm for us, there will always be people who can’t take a joke
May get shit for this but I don’t really care

So Mandy, yes that name... I genuinely want to know why she gets so much hate. We all know she’s ghost produced, and we all know a lot of other’s are as well. I always see people talking about it under her video’s on YouTube but never Sub Sonik, The Prophet, Issac etc.
Can anyone just give me a non contradicting statement on why you hate her? She admitted to help in the studio, which is a lot more than others have done.
To get where my opinion is, I like her. I’ll say in quotations to not upset anyone “Her track” High Tonight was a good track. Going back in time Reset your mindset as well. Outside of music she’s actually a really nice girl, I’ve talked with her a few times and realised she’s always got time for everyone which is nice. I understand some are busier than others but you rarely ever get DM’s back from DJ’s. She is so kind, so I just really wonder why the unwarranted hate.

In 2015 i think she was signed to dirty workz altough she did nothing(she did a few small dj sets). Quite a few people were pissed especially considering that there are other producers that work hard and dont get this far.
This may be a hot take, but I do not care, this should be a Rapi’s SSR VARIANT!
Main Post:
Don’t get me wrong I love Red Hood’s design (honestly the best in the game), but I’d prefer her be a separate unit rather than an SSR variant of Rapi. Red Hood Mode Rapi would be dope. Just finish the story by the way... amazing

Anorexia patients may be given palliative care not life-prolonging treatment under new NHS guidance

We look like we’re dying, our prognosis is poor, and we have been failed repeatedly by services unable to provide adequate treatment.
Sounds like palliative treatment will be more common soon for more conditions.
This may be the only game where I don’t care how often narration happens

With how often random dialogue pops up I’m glad it’s at least my lovely lady knight

I care.
I care that it doesn't happen EVEN MORE.
Stipe Miocic may not care, but MMA owes it to him to remember his accomplishments - Ben Fowlkes

Top Comment: disappointed that the ufc didnt have anything prepared for him. i know it was a """surprise""" retirement, but its astounding that the ufc didnt have the foresight to think that a 40+ year old coming off a near 4 year layoff would retire off a loss. get him a little 2 minute finish compilation or anything. show the ngannou win. idk
Hospice care may be more expensive - is that a bad thing?
Main Post:

This article says that hospice patient's ended up costing Medicare $10,191 while only saving $3,430, resulting in a net increased cost of $6,761. First of all it seems hard to believe. A lot of the people in the non-hospice group were DNR and Do-Not-Hospitalize so they probably should have been on hospice anyway. In fact I bet a big part of why they weren't is that hospice is criminally underfunded.
Even if we believe these numbers though, why would it be bad? Care for old demented and dying people should focus on their comfort. Paying for grief counseling for the family, increased comfort medications, supervision, etc seems like money at least well spent, even if it is $10K. Spending $3-4K to put them in an ambulance, send them to the ER and then ICU and poke them full of holes only to jump on the chest and tube them seems like money wasted, even if it is somehow less money than the first group.
I am glad that we are spending more money on hospice. Hospice patients and their families deserve all the respect in the world, $7K seems like a reasonable amount of support from the government for this. They spend way more money on worse things.
Lastly the article complains that people are spending too long on hospice. "In our unmatched cohorts, the mean hospice length of stay increased from 72.1 days in 2004 to 92.6 days in 2009. This increase is largely due to the growth in the number of nursing home hospice residents without cancer (who have less accurate 6-month prognoses" Am I wrong or is the average hospice stay supposed to be 6 months? This means that on average every hospice patient is missing out on about 3 months of hospice care. Which is fine if that is what the patient or family want. But since when is providing half of the services you are supposed to as a program considered an unacceptable level of expenditure for the program?
Top Comment:
I do not think that the average hospice stay is supposed to be 6 months, but rather, up to 6 months. Those numbers are probably an interesting play between people who are admitted to hospice care and live for longer than expected, and those that are admitted to hospice care and die that same day.
My opinion on Insomnia! You may not care!
Main Post:
Finished Insomnia at the ole job today on lunch break, and I would have to say it is one of my favorite Stephen King books! I am fairly well versed (read about 30 or so Sai-King novels and collections)and this was one of my favorites! This sub and r/books were sort of divided on their opinion of the novel. Ralph Roberts is one of my all time favorite King characters, and personally I loved the ending! (I love him but we all know how King endings can be sometimes) Obviously the It connections and the significant Dark Tower connections trigger the nerd in me pretty hard. I only wish I read this before I read The Dark Tower series last year. Anyway thanks for indulging me. Lets all enjoy Sleeping Beauties today!

Mine too! I'm almost done re-reading the book.
Plex doesn't care for James May or Italy?
Main Post:
Snappy click-bait title eh?
So I am having a problem with just one show appearing in the TV LIbrary; "James May - Our Man in Italy."
Sonarr did it's job automatically finding the episodes and moving them over to the library folder. I see this in the history of Sonarr and I can see the series folder the library folder; the season folder is there and all the files as well.
However, it does not show up in the library. Any searching for it and it does not appear; "James May," "Italy," full title, all not joy.
So. I moved the whole series folder back into the inbound folder for the downloading program, cleaned up all the non video files and did a manual import. Everything moved over fine, let Plex ruminate on that for a while, still nothing available to view.
I did a lot of stuff in between then and now, even shut down Plex and followed the steps to fix a corrupted database, all with no success.
My last step was to again move the series folder back to the inbound directory and let Plex receive some episodes of other programs. Last night, I deleted all of the non video files from the directories for the series and just moved that over to the TV content folder and left Plex alone.
This morning, I've got .xml and .nfo files matching the episode filenames in the season folder and tvshow.nfo in the series folder. Alas, the show is still nowhere to be found to be played.
Dear redditors, any thoughts on what the heck is going on and how I might resolve this? I'd really like to watch this; I like both James and Italy.
Top Comment: I had the "in Japan" series. Sonarr offered both "Our Man In Italy" (Ended) and "Our Man In" (continuing). I renamed my Man in Japan folder to remove "Japan", then added "Our Man In" from Sonarr. It found Season 1 (Japan) in my library and added Season 2 (Italy), and now it's waiting for the next country James visits.. I did manually change the poster to the generic "Our Man In..." image. It CAN be two separate one-season shows, but I opted to rename and anticipate season 3.
